Jamie Bowman is a mother of three children, two of whom are part of the LGBTQ community. This is what sparked her interest in equity work and coupled well with her love of public speaking. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from OSU-Cascades in Social Science with an emphasis on Community Development and Leadership. She is currently the President of an LGBTQ+ focused nonprofit called Human Dignity Coalition, as well as a co-founder of the Central Oregon Transgender Health Coalition, a group facilitator for Better Together, and a member of Basic Rights Oregon’s Fierce Families Leadership Committee. In her few moments of spare time, you can catch her taking way too many pictures of her kids and drinking massive amounts of caffeine. Having grown up in Central Oregon, she’s had a first hand experience in the evolution of this community and that perspective is what drives her to continue this work.
